More photos of the newest litter of Mini Lops

These photos were taken last night when they were about 8 hours old.

This morning it was obvious they'd already received their first feeding from their Momma.
They now have nice round bellies.

Litter Announcement!! They've safely arrived!

We are so excited to announce that Lily & Hawthorne (pedigree names WolfSongs B3A & Spirit's Thor) had their first litter safely arrive this morning!

Lily started pulling fur around 8:00 a.m. (pictures in previous post) and started delivering them around 9:00 a.m.  This is her first litter.  First litters can be small and it's not unusual for some to not make it.
Well, this girl seems to be an overachiever!
She had 6 and all are very alive and actively wiggling about so far!  We are excited and so thankful.

We do have a waiting list for this litter started.  If you would like to be put on the wait list and notified when we are taking reservation/deposits please email us at: whitehavenwoodsrabbitry@gmail.com

Lily is getting ready for her first litter!

At 8:00 a.m. I found Lily (WolfSong's B3A) busy pulling fur and getting the nest ready!
I will post an update once she has kindled!

Update on Miss Maggie

Update on the update:
Sad news:  Late last night to my surprise I came out to the rabbitry to find Miss Maggie had indeed kindled. Very sad to say this delivery/litter did not go well.  There were 4 delivered but none made it.  I'm guessing since she kindled late, for her, maybe they were a bit large and caused a difficult delivery.  I was up until 2:00 a.m. trying to help one survive.   I'm hoping Lily kindles safely in one week and we still get some kits from our show quality line this month.

************
I know some have been following waiting for an update on Miss Maggie (aka Bauer's Fullhouse) and her anticipated litter.  Well, the reason there has been nothing posted is because there has yet to be a litter born.
At this point I am starting to wonder.  It's only day 32 of her pregnancy but she is known for usually kindling on day 30.  I am not entirely ruling out the possibility of her still being pregnant (with the seriousness and eagerness with which she got right to work preparing the nest box still in mind).  However, I am wondering if there is a chance it was a false pregnancy or for some reason it naturally terminated.  I will post any updates!
I hope she still surprises us with a litter.  If not we will give her a couple weeks and then breed her to Mr. Hawthorne (aka Spirit's Thor).

On a positive note, we did breed Lily (WolfSongs B3A) to Hawthorne in February.  So, we still have a good chance for some Mini Lop kits born this month with good show quality potential.  If their breeding was successful she'd be due a week from tomorrow.

Henry's first walk

First walks are always fun!  There is just something incredibly cute about a bunny on a leash hopping alongside a child.  If you didn't know they make rabbit harnesses with leashes - they do!

Today was Henry's first walk and he really enjoyed it!  He is one of our 3 month old tri color pet Mini Lops.

Checking out his surroundings

Getting his first nibble of grass!

And of course washing his face afterward!

Miss Maggie (aka Bauer's Fullhouse) is getting her nest box ready!

She is due Friday.  I added the nest box and some extra hay in her cage today so she could start preparing whenever she was ready to.  Well, she got right to work!
She's a Momma on a mission!

Counting down! Anticipating a litter at the end of the week!

We are looking forward to seeing what this week has in store for our rabbitry.
We purchased this sweet doe in February.  She is an older doe who produced a lot of quality offspring for her previous owner.  She had 7  in her last litter.  She is likely to kindle on Friday.  The nest box is going on tomorrow so she can start getting ready whenever needed!

Her pedigree name is Bauer's Fullhouse - we call her Magnolia - "Miss Maggie".

Bunnies began heading to new homes.

Today 4 of the 6 bunnies from Violet's last litter headed to their new homes.  Two headed to Lafayette, IN, one to Louisville, KY, and one to New Lenox, IL. It was such a pleasure to meet each of the families.  We were once again blessed with such sweet customers.  It makes me happy when I know that the rabbits have a good home and that we could help bring the delight of a new pet to a family.
Thanks to each of you for traveling to get your rabbit(s) today!  It was truly a pleasure to meet you.
We'd love to receive a photo of your new pet settled into their new home and hear what they got named!
