Photos of our new Velveteen Lops!

Velveteen Lops have arrived at Whitehaven Woods Rabbitry!
So excited to have them here and learn about this newer breed.

If you saw in a previous post we briefly had a black otter Velveteen doe. She did not seem a good fit for us and the breeder we purchased her from was so kind to let us trade her for a younger, orange doe.
SO this is our Velveteen doe:

We got to name both of these rabbits.  We named them Dame-Marie & Jeremie after cities in Haiti.

We plan to use some of the money from Velveteen kits we raise and sell in the future to go towards Missions trips & Mission work in Haiti.

Velveteen Lops also coming to Whitehaven Woods Rabbitry!

So excited to announce that we will soon be adding Pedigreed Velveteen Lops to our rabbitry!
We will still be raising pet and show quality Mini Lops!

For those that are not familiar with Velveteen Lops (aka VLops)  they are a breed that has been in development for several years yet are still somewhat rare.
They uniquely combine the velvety, plush fur of a rex rabbit and the long lop ears of an English Lop.  They weigh around six to six and a half pounds and have a mandolin shaped body. They have what is referred to as a roman shaped head and the desired minimum ear length tip to tip is 15".
They are known for being very sweet natured rabbits.

A pair will be joining our rabbitry this coming weekend.  The doe has already been bred.  Assuming the breeding was successful kits would be due mid July 2015!

Violet's Litter ~ 6 weeks old, Pet Quality Mini Lops

Violet & Thomas's litter is 6 weeks old today!
They are doing great and awaiting their new homes in a couple weeks.
All have been reserved except the first one.

This update is for those looking to purchase a Mini Lop rabbit later this summer.
Both Lily (aka WolfSongs B3A) & Maggie (aka Bauer's Fullhouse) were  bred to Hawthorne (Spirit's Thor) today.

Both does should be due to kindle around July 9th.  We will be taking reservation deposits mid- August and kits would be ready for new homes very early September 2015.

These will be pedigreed kits from our show lines.

A $15 deposit will hold your rabbit of choice and go towards the purchase price of $35.
