Mini Lops vs Holland Lops

We sometimes have people come to our rabbitry to pick up their Mini Lop and they are surprised by the full grown size of the parents of the rabbit.  They were envisioning a dwarf size rabbit.  Miniature Lops are not a dwarf breed.  Though called "Miniature Lops" they are not the smallest of the lop breeds.
The smallest of the lop breeds is the Holland Lop which usually weighs in under 4 pounds when full     grown.  In Britain Holland Lops are called Miniature Lops.  This sometimes causes some confusion           for people in the United States.

Why we chose Mini Lops, hands down: Temperament!
Many people want the smallest dwarf breeds to have as a pet and sometimes don't consider the temperament.  Though there are of course exceptions, in general, smaller dwarf breeds tend to be more skittish.  We have owned both Holland Lops and Mini Lops and quickly decided on  Mini Lops.
The Holland Lops we owned tended to be nippy and more unpredictable.
