It's so fun to see the fur come in and discover the coloring of each of the kits!
The colors for this litter have been identified from left to right as:
#1 & 2 are Japanese Harlequin, #3 Has appearance of Broken Black, likely Tri Color with Low rufus (red) factor like his Daddy #4 is a Blue Magpie, #5 a Black Magpie, & #6 a Tri Color (aka broken Harlequin)
Photo taken at 3 days old.
Cute! Do you know what Thomas looked like as a baby? I wonder if #3 has low rufus and will end up looking like Dad or maybe magpie tri? I'm partial to their markings either way, of course! :)
ReplyDeleteWe got Thomas when he was 10 weeks old. So the picture at the right of the sidebar of this blog shows him close to as young as we got him. I wondered the same thing as you. I'm thinking he might end up like his Dad. You can't really get a true broken black from the combo of my Doe & Buck can you?
DeleteI'm so curious to see how he or she grows! Yes, there is no possibility of self colors like black from what is essentially Harlie x Harlie. There are lots of options within the pattern though, especially because there are broken genetics and possible Dutch spotting genes, too. :)
DeleteWhat would you call Thomas's coloring Hendricks Hearth?
DeleteDoes he have some fawn/tan/light orange markings around his muzzle? It looks like he might in the pics and then I would say he is probably a tri with low rufus (less bright orange than Violet). :)
DeleteYou are correct he does have a very small amount of fawn/tan on his face and a couple faint spots of it on his body. Thanks so much. :)
