I just wanted to add another Mini Lop update:
Tonight both Spirit's Scarlet and Spirit's Xena were bred with Whitehaven's Mango.
Therefore, we will anticipate a litter, hopefully two, in early February.
Spirit's Xena only kindled one kit recently and unfortunately it was dead upon arrival.
She was rebred today. (*Please know that this is not at all unhealthy for her. Rabbits are actually more receptive to breeding within a couple days of a lost litter.)

Updates from our Rabbitry
Happy New Year to all!
I wanted to post a couple updates on the happenings here at the rabbitry.
English Lops:
Our English Lop pair is doing great! They are both so sweet and have settled in great. They are such a endearing breed. I'm so glad I decided to add them to our rabbitry.
I plan to breed them for the first time in late February.
Mini Lops:
I am anticipating a litter out of Spirit's Xena today!
She has been busy for the last hour getting her nest box ready and today is day 31.
I will post an update when the litter arrives.
Spirit's Scarlet will be bred again soon to Whitehaven's Mango.
I have decided to keep the fawn doe out of their last litter here with us. I have named her Peaches. Peaches had an eye infection as a young kit. I kept her around longer to make sure her eye healed up well. In that time I decided she should just stay!☺ She is doing great and such a sweet, friendly girl.
Here is a photo of her:

Spirit's Clementine is going to the home of a fellow rabbit raiser and friend of mine.
I know she will be well taken care of. Unfortunately she has yet been able to have a litter.

Spirit's Xena's Litter - update
Spirit's Xena is a great mother to her litter. All six are doing well and she is so sweet about not minding us interacting with her little ones. As of today all of them now have their eyes open.
At this point it is looking likely that there are 3 bucks in the litter and 3 does. Time will tell but that's my best guess at this young age. It appears that the two chinchilla colored are does, and one of the broken chinchilla looks to be a doe. The chestnut and the other two broken chinchilla appear to likely be bucks.
They will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. We will take reservation deposits when they are around 5-6 weeks old. Should we decide to keep one, we get first pick. Then those in line on our wait list will pick in the order their name appears on the wait list.

12 day old Mini Lops - Daisy's kits
Spirit's Scarlet - Litter photos @ 4 weeks old, Pedigreed Mini Lops
Spirit's Scarlet's litter turned 4 weeks old today. I don't think there has been a cuter litter.
These are pedigreed and from excellent lines. We will be taking reservation deposits in one week!
There are 8 in the litter. Great option for 4h or simply family pet!
Thanks to my daughter Carlie for taking these photos. She enjoys taking picture of all the rabbits.

Violet's Kits - taking deposits!
Update! These 3 kits turn 5 weeks old this weekend. They are not reserved.
If you'd like one of these sweeties email and let us know. You can place a deposit now and take one home at 8 weeks old!
********************
Violet's 3 remaining kits are doing great. These photos were taken of them yesterday.
It appears that the black and chestnut are bucks and that the chinchilla (grey) is a doe.
They are in the stage where much of the time their ears are up but if you pet them down they'll stay that way for a bit. In the coming weeks they will gradually lop down on their own.
They are very active. It's fun to see them cuddle with their Mom and eat pellet food alongside her.
We will be taking deposits in them in one week. The total purchase price for this litter is $40 each. The deposit is $20 and goes towards that purchase price. Deposits can be paid in cash in person or via paypal.

Spirit's Scarlet's Litter - one week old
Spirit's Scarlet is taking great care of her kits. I've enjoyed getting acquainted with this new doe. At first she was a bit shy and stayed towards the back of her cage. Once her litter arrived and she was familiar with us she started coming up to the door. She now is quite friendly.
I tried to get a good photo of the whole litter but they were being so wiggly I couldn't get any real clear ones.
Here is a photo of the one that is a different color than all the rest. I will try to post a video after the photo of all 8.

Spirit's Scarlet's litter - Photos at 3 days
These pictures were taken yesterday when Spirit's Scarlet's litter was 3 days old. They are doing great.
It's fun to have one that looks different than all the rest!
Last night when we checked on them we did find that one of them had died. With a larger litter this is more likely. With a litter of 9 one of them will likely miss out on a feeding each time, as there is only enough to go around for 8 at a time. Going forward we will always breed another doe at the same time as Spirit's Scarlet so that we can foster some from her litters to another Mom. The 8 remaining had very fat bellies!
Update Violet's litter - good news!
UPDATE: Good news!
Below is the sad news that I shared a couple days ago, but the good news is it is very apparent that the three remaining kits are just fine. They are eating, growing, and hopping all about the cage with Mom. They look good. We are thankful! They are 3 weeks old today.
Sad news: (previously shared)
Unfortunately in the last couple days things did not go well with some of the kits in Violet's litter.
They were all growing great and very active then suddenly some of them started having some serious issues that we'd not encountered before. The only thing that was different than with all of our previous litters was the hay that we were feeding. From sharing the symptoms with others who raise rabbits it is agreed that it is likely that, unbeknownst to us, this particular hay had mold or some other contaminate. This would affect the sensitive young kits. It was right around the time that the kits were old enough to start eating the hay that the problems began arising. As soon as we realized the hay might be the cause, we immediately stopped giving it to all the rabbits. Needless to say, we will not buying hay from that seller again!
Sadly 2 of the 5 kits died in the last couple days. The three remaining seem to be doing well though!
One of each color remains: Chinchilla, Chestnut, & Black.

Special Delivery!
We are still awaiting Lily's litter. They are due today. She's been pulling fur and getting ready.
However, we did have someone arrive yesterday out of Miss Maggie (Bauer's Fullhouse)!
This sweet little one was born around 5:15 p.m. yesterday.
We kept quiet about this breeding as we did not know what the outcome would be.
Maggie only had one kit in her last litter and it did not live.
Maggie is such a sweetheart and getting a little older. We have always wanted to keep one of her offspring to keep her pedigree line and great traits going. Therefore, my husband thought we should breed her one last time. Well, 3 were born yesterday. Only this one was alive. This little one looks just like her and is so far doing well. Maggie did not labor long this time and is doing well also.

Mni Lop Video - 2 1/2 week old bunnies
This is Violet's current litter. They are 2 1/2 weeks old now and at such a fun stage.
This video was taken of them this morning.
While I was cleaning out cages in the rabbitry, the little ones got to be out in this area.
My daughters enjoyed watching them and interacting with them.
We have a couple people on the wait list already for this litter. If you would like to be added just email and let us know: whitehavenwoodsrabbitry@gmail.com
We are taking a reservation deposit of $20 (paypal or cash) when they are 5 weeks old (a couple days before Christmas). The remaining $20 would be due when the rabbit is picked up at 8 weeks old.
Both the father and mother of this litter are purebred Mini Lops. They both have wonderful temperaments.
