Important Change regarding Wait List

I want to inform anyone who is looking to purchase from our rabbitry of an important change:
We are no longer keeping a "wait list".  

Since establishing our rabbitry, I have always kept a wait list but have found it to, all too often, end up not being a good use of time. It takes a lot of time emailing folks on the wait list and waiting for responses and decisions.  Many on the wait list end up not purchasing.  I've had as many as 6 people on the wait list (turning others away) and only 1 or 2 actually ended up purchasing.  It's very unpredictable.

SO, going forward I will simply be keeping a "Notification List" rather than a wait list.  You can email at any time and request being put on the notification list. This simply means you will be notified by email when there are rabbits available to be reserved or for sale.

People on the notification list are not reserving a spot in line.  If you prefer to simply follow this site or our facebook page, and contact us when you see a rabbit available that you'd like to purchase, you may do so.  You do not have to be on the notification list to purchase.   It's simply an option available if you find it helpful.  Please note that our rabbitry always has the right to turn down a sale if we don't feel good about the fit.

Photos of our new English Lops!

Last night we welcomed our first pair of English Lops!
We will be breeding this pair when they mature.
Thanks to Sheree White for these two beauties.

This is the first I have held and interacted with English Lops!  Wow.  They are big rabbits and those ears!
They have such a unique beauty about them.

The doe is definitely the more outgoing of the two.  They are getting acquainted with us and enjoying having turns running around in the exercise pen.

This is WolfSong/Parker's Rapunzel.  She is a tort colored doe.  She is 6 months old.

This is Parker's Gatlin.  He is a blue colored buck.  He is just over 10 months old.

Retiring this sweet buck! Looking for good pet home!

I'm retiring this sweet buck. He's fathered most of the litters at our rabbitry and I've been so pleased with him.  Many that follow our site have a kit that he fathered.  He's shy until he knows you, but once he's acquainted, he loves to be pet and get attention.
He is only 3 1/2 years old and has not had any health issues whatsoever.  He has never sprayed once while here at our rabbitry.  He's got such a sweet, chubby face.

I'd love to find him an indoor home where he can be spoiled with attention.
He has not been around young children so I am desiring a home with older responsible children, or a companion for adults.

Exciting news! The English are coming... English Lops that is!

I am excited to announce that our rabbitry is adding a pair of pedigreed English Lops to our rabbitry! From what I can see there are no other breeders of English Lops in middle to northern Indiana.  I am excited to bring this breed to the area!

NOTE:  We will still be raising pedigreed Mini Lops too!

About English Lops:

English Lops are one of the oldest breeds of domestic rabbits still in existence.
They weigh in around 10-11 pounds  or more (that's right quite a bit more than Mini Lops!)
They are known for their incredibly long ears, mandolin shaped body, and their puppy dog personality.  People either find them odd looking or beautifully intriguing!

A pedigreed pair will be arriving in one week.

Photos - Newest Litter of Mini Lops!

Here are a couple photos of Spirit's Scarlet's litter.  There are 4 in the litter.  2 black and 2 orange (possibly tort).  They arrived very early Saturday morning.  They are 4 days old today and doing great.  She was bred to Whitehaven's Mango.

Spirit's Xena's Litter - update

Spirit's Xena is a great mother to her litter.  All six are doing well and she is so sweet about not minding us interacting with her little ones.  As of today all of them now have their eyes open.

At this point it is looking likely that there are 3 bucks in the litter and 3 does.  Time will tell but that's my best guess at this young age.  It appears that the two chinchilla colored are does, and one of the broken chinchilla looks to be a doe.  The chestnut and the other two broken chinchilla appear to likely be bucks.

They will be 2 weeks old tomorrow.  We will take reservation deposits when they are around 5-6 weeks old.  Should we decide to keep one, we get first pick.  Then those in line on our wait list will pick in the order their name appears on the wait list.

This is Spirit's Xena.  She is a pedigreed broken chinchilla charlie Mini Lop.
She has had one litter already and is a great Mom.
Since she is a charlie (less than 10% color) she cannot be shown but her siblings have been shown in Michigan and did well.  We plan to breed her sometime this month.  We are hoping she will pass on her nice head, great hindquarters, and sweet temperament to her offspring.
I am thrilled to have her!  I have a fondness for charlies and was smitten with her right away.

Planned litter late August!

Whitehaven's Clementine was bred to Whitehaven's Simon today.

If all goes well, kits would be due around August 25th and ready for new homes around October 20th.

This is the first breeding for this pair.

Spirit's Scarlet's new litter!

We are happy to welcome two new bunnies today!   Spirit's Scarlet had a small litter arrive today.
She had 4 come early a few days ago that were unfortunately dead upon arrival.  We weren't sure if there were more to come or not.  So despite the small litter we are happy that she kindled two healthy kits this morning!

I thought I'd post some updated photos of our Jr doe, Spirit's Clementine.
The first pictures was taken around 3 months of age and the additional pictures were taken today at 5 months.

We will likely be breeding Clementine for the first time in August.
So glad to be seeing orange here at our rabbitry!

New litter of Mini Lops in about one week!

We are anticipating a new litter of Mini Lops in about one 1 week!

Spirit's Scarlet was bred to Spirit's Thor at the end of May.
This is the first time for this pairing.
Both of these rabbits are from great show lines and have great body type.
They also both have good temperaments.

Recently many of Spirit's Scarlet's kits went to their new homes.
This is one of her kits that is happily settling in with its new family.

Another Good bye & a happy ending

Yesterday we said Good Bye to Miss Maggie (aka Bauer's Fullhouse).  This rabbit was one of our first pedigreed, show rabbits we purchased.  Not only did she have great pedigree & her own winnings but she was a sweetie.  However, it didn't bring me sadness to see this sweet bunny go, instead it brought me joy. How could I not be happy, after all, when I saw her new owner get choked up with tears of joy when I placed Miss Maggie in her lap!  It was precious.  Miss Maggie has become a companion to a sweet elderly lady.  She is so happy to have a pet again and Miss Maggie is thrilled with the one on one attention, I'm sure! Going from the rabbitry to a coffee table in a living room has got to be quite a pleasant step up!

Congratulations to Donna on her new furry friend. Thanks to our customer Harriet for bringing Donna to our rabbitry!
